Every professional will say that they are good at their jobs
because they put the effort into what they do.
I don’t believe this is 100% accurate.
Some people are naturally born all-stars and they are just that good to
do what they want. Look at Derek Jeter,
he was born an all-star. Growing up, he
was such an amazing athlete at every sport he played and now he’s playing
shortstop for the New York Yankees. He
did have to practice really hard to be a professional, but he was naturally
born that way. He was born with that
ability to play baseball. My mom is a
paralegal and she never went to college to get her degree. She never had that opportunity to go to
college and learn the basics of what her job is. She had to learn on the go. Once she got a job somewhere, she had to
learn from what everyone else was doing.
She still has a lot of learning to do but she still makes one great
paralegal. Most singers out there are
pretty good. They practice and practice
every day but they are just naturally such a good singer. They could keep warming up their vocal cords
but they are still good enough to entertain the world. So all of this information just proves that
you don’t have to practice 10,000 hours to be good at something. Sometimes, you are just born with a
gift. You don’t need the rule “Find
someone to kick your butt if you fall off track” because you are your own
person. We are all in college now and you
don’t someone holding your hand all the way through college. If you feel like you are about to fail at something,
you need to ask for help on your own because help will not be looking for
you. Most of the rules I do agree with
but this one I will have to say is wrong.
You could be your own motivation. Malcolm Gladwell is right about some things but when it comes to 10,000 hours, you don't need that much practice to be good at something.

Malcolm Gladwell :)
